About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

The Best of YoungBloodZ: Still Grippin' tha Grain compiles the highlights of Atlanta duo's three albums to date for LaFace Records, including all their major hits, chiefly "Presidential," "Cadillac Pimpin'," and "Damn!" Half of the compilation is comprised of songs from Drankin' Patnaz (2003), their best album, and there aren't any new recordings or previously unreleased material. So since there's nothing new or hard-to-find on The Best of YoungBloodZ, anyone who already has their studio albums will have no economical reason to pick up this compilation. On the other hand, anyone who doesn't have those albums will find this to be a handy one-stop pickup. In any event, the release of The Best of YoungBloodZ seems awfully premature, for there aren't even enough hits to fill out the compilation, resulting in the inclusion of album tracks. However, with Sean P (formerly the other Sean Paul) going solo, LaFace evidently felt the time was right to capitalize on his increased presence and the minimal YoungBloodZ catalog is deeper for it.
