About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Jeff Foxworthy's best is worthy indeed: The southern-centric comedian is one of the cleverest funnymen cracking jokes in the post-millennial world. This 16-track collection features a hall of fame of classic routines, starting, of course, with the all-too-true litany, "You Might Be a Redneck If...," which comes in three installments here. Elsewhere, Foxworthy offers wry and hilarious takes on such venerable traditions as mooning ("Seek and Destroy," which also comes in a musical version, retitled "Big o' Moon," featuring bluegrass stalwarts Del McCoury and Mac Wiseman) and the bikini wax ("Every Single Hair on Her Body," in which he observes, "We should implement this as a penalty in our judicial system"). Foxworthy never misses an opportunity to observe the peculiar differences between "Sophisticated People vs. Rednecks" -- "Sophisticated people invest their money in stock portfolios; rednecks invest our money in commemorative plates" -- or the ongoing battle of the sexes, especially within the confines of marriage ("Rules of Marriage"). Like the best humor, his material has the ring of truth about it, but it's empathetic rather than mean-spirited. This package also comes with a DVD featuring five live routines, including "Redneck Games," with special guest Alan Jackson in a good-sport supporting role. Yankee or Rebel, it's hard not to have a good belly laugh over Foxworthy's good-natured, keen-eyed take on the human condition above and below the Mason-Dixon Line. David McGee, Barnes & Noble
