About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

If this "best of" CD focuses squarely on Andrea Bocelli's pop side, so much the better for fans who snap up his every hit album, beginning with 1997's smash Romanza and continuing with Sogno, Cieli di Toscana, Andrea, Amore, and others. Here's your chance to pick up Bocelli chart-toppers that may have slipped by, like the Sarah Brightman duet "Time to Say Goodbye," the Olympics theme "Because We Believe," or the Celine Dion duet "The Prayer." But Vivere reaches out to devotees, too, offering four all-new numbers: tracks with saxman Kenny G ("A Te") and classical piano sensation Lang Lang ("Io Ci Sarò"), as well as the new song "Bellissime Stelle" and a revamped version of the title track -- a cut borrowed from Romanza that now features the popular Italian singer Laura Pausini. For additional treats and a more rounded portrait of Bocelli, turn to the special edition of the album, which comes with a companion DVD featuring concert footage filmed in view of the Statue of Liberty. Singing a program of famous opera arias and Neapolitan songs, here's Bocelli the populist, the tenor who transcends pop-classical pigeonholes and delivers thrills to millions of admirers.
