About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

If you don't know who Juvenile and his Cash Money cohorts are by now, you obviously don't have cable (their videos rule on The Box), a radio (these New Orleans champs even get play in New York!) or a pulse. Juvy, the man behind the 1998 twin towers of power "Ha" and "Back That Azz Up," stays in your face with his fourth album, THA G-CODE, yet another successful stampede from rap's reigning dynasty. Similar to Wu-Tang's practice of featuring group members on one another's solo LPs, Juvenile's latest often showcases his label mates the Hot Boys, the team that also includes the robotic-sounding Southern slang specialists B.G., Lil Wayne, and Young Turk. Pay attention to tracks like "Catch Your Cut," with its relentless laser beam blasts, the head-noddin', tempo-changin' "March Nigga Step," and the ultra-nasty "I Got That Fire," which is destined to be another club banger and could quite possibly introduce "Oscar Mayer" as 2000's new slang for "bozack." Entirely produced by the tireless and talented Mannie Fresh, THA G-CODE rocks harder than an A-bomb and will have fans coming back like a U-turn. Gabriel Alvarez Barnes & Noble
