I can't speak highly enough of the music. Superbly written, performed and produced... the sound radiates with warmth, soul and harmony. I don't mean harmony just in the vocal sense. It's also present in the way Andrae allows the Disciples to display their own talents, including the incredible range and depth of Sherman Andrus. Take the Message Everywhere raised the standards of gospel recordings, and was a gem in the "contemporary gospel" field which was still in its infancy. It's too bad the original album cover photo was not used in the packaging of this CD. Instead, a much later photo of Andrae (no Disciples)is used... a lifeless 80's studio pose that has little in common with the rich, youthful emotion contained within. This release deserved better. But don't let the poor design stop you from buying this CD.

The preceding review stated, "no where near contemporary." However, for 1969, "Take the Message Everywhere" was very much Contemporary Christian Music for the time. While songs like "The Broken Vessel" and "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power" hold their place in modern hymnals today, they were songs that appealed to young people back in the day.
