About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Tierra's brand of East Los Angeles Latin soul is intoxicating and addictive. This street-corner concert includes a harmonic makeover of Junior Walker's "What Does It Take," a bouncy "I'm Your Puppet," and a heart-pumping rendition of the Friends of Distinction's "Going in Circles." Washington, D.C.'s Frankie Karl & the Dreams' "Don't Be Afraid, Do as I Say" is a surprise addition and the least familiar song. Two classy medleys, "Old Songs Medley" and "Tierra Medley," are heartfelt. A soft, relaxed production reduces this CD to a good entree rather than the prize-winning dish it could have been.
