About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

"She hits that point of no return between love and hurt," says Missy Elliott of her protégée Tweet. On her debut disc, Southern Hummingbird, the Minnie Riperton-reminiscent vocalist explores both the highs and lows of a crazy little thing called love. Most notably, the New York native and Atlanta transplant delves into the darker side of love on the sultry "Smoking Cigarettes" and the haunting "Always Will." On the brighter side, Tweet sings the praises of her "Best Friend" and of her "skin so buttery brown" on the sensual, Timbaland-laced hit "Ooops (Oh My)." With hit makers Missy and Tim behind her, this talented singer-songwriter with the small name is sure to make it big. Tracy E. Hopkins, Barnes & Noble

September 27, 2010: GET THIS ALBUM! Because this girl gives you some REAL R&B! You know the kind your mama used to play back in the day when she was cleaning up the house on a saturday morning. Tweet has a beautiful voice and very talented writing skills. More importantly though she's a very strong individual for taking a chance by coming out with an album that is not the norm for artists today, and because she touches subjects that you can tell are painful. I feel like I'm her friend because I've listened to her heartache, happiness, issues, triumphs and everything esle that she has gone through. How many artists invite you like that? She's a female prince, michael jackson and r. kelly (note these are the greatest). She's a refreshment to the R&B scene. It took a minute for me to get into her ''Boogie Nite'' but eventually it grew on me. The best tracks are ''Smoking Cigaretts'', ''Motel'', ''Best Friend'', ''Heaven'' and that bonus track ''Big Spendor''. But to tell the truth... I love the whole album. Her acoustic style is very much needed. Let's talk duet with music sensation India Arie! Much love goes out to this Singing Southern Hummingbird. Thanks for a great album
