There is something to be said for fresh approaches. On their debut disc Sound of Melodies, Christian alternative band Leeland brings a disc with flavor and dynamics. From the intro title cut to the very end the band delivers polished musical excursions' that are capped with well delivered vocal prowess. Fronting the band is 18-year-old Leeland Mooring. Besides musical chops what Mooring brings to the table are thoughtful lyrics and an amazing songwriting maturity. Cuts like "Reaching" really come to the fore at mid-song, while "Yes You Have" seems to derive from a perfect formula. The emotional vocals of Mooring really come alive here. February 11, 2008: Though I don't have this album I've heard two of there songs and there extraordinary! So if you're looking for a less depressing, but equally powerful alternative to Kean, you've found them!

May 10, 2007: Boy, was I wrong! The title track is INCREDIBLE, the second one is even better, and the fourth one, Tears of the Saints, makes me cry, it is so beautiful. This group combines the classic rock that I love so much and the Christian messages that I need! Buy this CD, by all means, it is incredible! "Can you believe the lead singer, Leeland Mooring, is only 18?"
