About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Tears for Fears' best album, and one of the most popular albums from the 1980s, Songs From the Big Chair was re-released in the U.K. and later the United States with updated liner notes and seven bonus tracks. Most of the bonus material, especially "Big Chair," "Empire Building," "The Marauders," "Broken Revisited," and "The Conflict," is comprised of sometimes bizarre and always experimental instrumental pieces which serve as an epilogue to the album, but don't really add much in terms of musical quality. These tracks probably wouldn't register with people who best remember this band for hits like "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and "Head Over Heels," As a big bonus, however, the U.S. single remix of "Mothers Talk" is included, as well as another U.S. remix of "Shout," although the original version of "Shout" was the hit. A decent repackaging for a seminal 1980s album. ~ Jose Promis, All Music Guide All Music Guide
