About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Yolanda Adams' Songs From the Heart is a mediocre effort with a few high points. Adams and her producers frequently put style over substance, drowning out her vocals, especially on the opening number, "Only Believe." Adams is clearly at her best when the arrangements are full-out gospel, as in "Is Your All on the Altar?," or smooth and jazz-tinged, as in "Jesus Medley." When Adams' voice is put first, the album succeeds, but sadly that's a rare occurrence. Melinda Hill, All Music Guide

February 05, 2003: Over all this album is great. I think that all of yolanda adams recordes are great, they help you when your in need of help and they also lift your spirits up when their down. the only thing that I have a problem with is getting the lyrics to yolanda adams songs and when I want to play them on the computer, what ever web site that I may go to they only play either 30 seconds of the song. But if they want you to buy the album on line how are you going to do that with just hearing 30 seconds of a song. I mean Hey how would any web site expect someone to but an album off of the computer and they never even heard the whole song before. They should play either more of the song(s) so that a veiwer like myself can enjoy what they hear and not be left hanging on the edge. With doing this a person may not want to buy the album, because they may not and sometimes not know of all they may be getting. The reason that I say this is because what if the person thinks that they may like the album and when they buy the album off line they may not like it. They probably could return it but that would be to much for a person who thought that they were getting a great deal, and from this experience they may not and probably won't purchase anything from online shopping again. and from that may other online store could and may loose a potential coustomer.
