About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

One of the leaders of Nashville's female revolution of the '90s, Trisha Yearwood sings a seamless blend of folk, pop, and country with a voice that's extraordinarily powerful yet finely nuanced. Like her hero, Linda Ronstadt, Yearwood crosses musical boundaries with ease and has an ear for fresh material from young, relative unknowns; her covers of Beth Nielsen Chapman's "Down on My Knees" and Matraca Berg's "The Wrong Side of Memphis" and "XXX's and OOO's" helped put those writer-performers on the map. Her talent is such that she can also knock a big, full-bodied ballad out of the park, as she does with Diane Warren's "How Do I Live" (the "Con Air" theme), which won Yearwood a Grammy Award and honors as Country Music Award Female Vocalist of the Year. SONGBOOK collects her best-known work, including two smash duets, "Walkaway Joe" (with Don Henley) and the Grammy-winning "In Another's Eyes" (with Garth Brooks), and the infectious "She's in Love with the Boy." All of Yearwood's albums contain an abundance of fine material, but SONGBOOK is the place to go for the quick gratification of hit after hit, more than half of them chart-toppers.
