About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

While other late-'90s Canadian bands were rediscovering the turbo-charged, garagey sounds of the Stooges, Montreal's Tricky Woo were playing bottom-heavy rock cribbed heavily from that other Detroit classic, the MC5. At just over 30 minutes, it's a bit on the short side, but the rock onslaught starts from the first note and continues right until the end. The lyrics to "Sad Eyed Woman" proclaim "I'm gonna save you with rock and roll," and they seem to be doing their best job throughout. Sean Carruthers, All Music Guide
