About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

For his fifth studio album, Jack Johnson makes some changes: Recording in Los Angeles for the first time instead of his native Hawaii, the album also promises prominent electric guitar -- a big shift from his acoustic-based sound. But fans can rest assured that Johnson will bring his sunny, laidback songwriting style and intimate lyrics. Barnes & Noble

April 02, 2008: This is the same old JJ, just a inferior repeat of "In Between Dreams"....Boring, slow, and literally sleep-inducing. I keep playing it, hoping for a flash of musical light to strike me and tell me what it is I'm missing....I love Jack's philosophy, own every album, and have seen him live more than once...The man has just flat run out of ideas. He needs to bring G.Love in for an injection of Blues and Soul, and this is last CD of his I will buy unheard.

March 24, 2008: To be honest the intial listen was tough. But after a few listens I enjoyed the unforced nature in the development of his songs and this album. After three years waiting I'm happy to have new jack johnson tracks. More mellow mixed in with deeper meloncholy lyrics.
