Like the album itself, the soundtrack to the 1978 film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is a legend in its own right. Where the Beatles' album was a groundbreaking moment in pop music, the Robert Stigwood film was an unmitigated disaster when first released. Nevertheless, as the years passed and '70s nostalgia grew, certain kitsch fanatics revealed an affection for the debacle, so it's no surprise that the album was reissued on CD for its 20th anniversary. May 19, 2003: I grew up in the early 70's and loved this movie the first time I saw it and I still love it. The soundtrack is great! Sure, some of it's a bit cheesey now that "I'm all grown up" but I still enjoy listening to the songs and watching the movie. For me it's a flashback to the past when everything was simple and non-complicated!
