About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

It’s hard to argue against the notion that this Mississippi-bred combo has something of a formula, but then again, so do Coca-Cola and McDonald’s. The 3-D-D equation balances introspection and grunginess in relatively equal proportions, with a hefty dose of personal-discovery lyrics, for which frontman Brad Arnold has a particular flair. Seventeen Days is a bit less polished than the band’s previous two albums -- not surprising, given the fact that the title refers to the amount of time supposedly spent crafting it -- and that boosts the potency of stomping songs like “Never Will I Break” and the Skynyrd-esque “My World.” In keeping with their sincere stoking of the heartland-rock fires, the trio enlists Bob Seger to share vocal duties on “Landing in London,” and his wizened rasp fits nicely into the string-laden melody. Yes, they revisit “When I’m Gone” territory on a couple of songs -- notably the single “Let Me Go” -- but not often enough to slide from comforting to snooze-inducing. August 10, 2005: 3 Doors Down did it again! This album is a great mix of Southern Rock, with some nice ballads like "Landing in London" (which happens to be my favorite), and "Here By Me". The lyrics are deep, and they hit right home. Worth all of the money for true rock fans!
