November 11, 2002: -i haven't heard sanctuary- but i do have a copy of suite for late summer- now- any cd which includes this lp instantly deserves a 5 out of 5- ?why? - because it sounds effortless- great music always sounds effortless- whether it's totally improvised or super arranged- it has the characteristic of seeming like the musicians are playing it fresh- - because the people that worked on it- musicians, writers, singers, arrangers, producers- sound like they are actually living in it- & because of this the record has a life of it's own greater than the sum &c- - because dion has one of the top voices of the 20th &21st centuries- & on this disc he really uses it- - because of the theme- this is more than 10 years on from dion's initial pop heydey- it sounds like... like sitting down on a warm sunday- watching the sun fade thru the willow in your back yard- noticing a half full martini glass & a shoe on the lawn-
