The music is beautiful, but in several of the pieces the sopranos are sharp, so I could only listen to the album for a short time.

Absolutely amazingly powerful. I like it better than Russian Sacred Treasures III, although III is a five-star also. Scared Treasures I seems to have more nature undertones evoking in me seeing wintery nature scenes as I just imagine how beautiful it must look in Russia during a sunny, winter day rather than an organized, church sermon. I would say it is almost like a winter Beethoven Pastorale without any musical instruments except a church bell in the beginning. I am not Russian and I do not understand Russian and so it is more the harmony of the voices that I hear of the relationship of Russians to the Russian environment rather than the church so to speak. Compared to a III that seems more of organized religious songs due to the harmonies that are wonderful also--it is like comparing a Pastorale to a Great Mass. I prefer a seasonal Pastorale but Great Masses are okay too.
