About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

The Toadies' debut album is a streamlined version of the Pixies' warped guitar rock and Nirvana's throttling grunge. It results in some good moments, particularly the single "Possum Kingdom." Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

April 14, 2002: this cd is always in the cd player- i think this is one of the best.... music isnt like this anymore.... all the bands out today all sound the same.... the toadies have their own distinct sound- its a shame their second disc didn't do so well.... this cd is one of those cds that you can listen to every single song on the album without skipping through tracks.....

December 10, 2001: ''Rubber neck'', one of two LPs put out by Toadies, is so delightfully out of it's era I was supprised to find it was made almost 8 years ago. The music is somwhat rustic but more mature than most bands out today. While reflecting 94 well it also offers music hardly touched by sythesizers, but so ahead of it's time it's more musical today. Like Texas it get's better with age.
