About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Romanza is designed to break Andrea Bocelli into the American market, not only to the Latin audience but also the English-speaking mainstream pop audience (through the Sarah Brightman duet "Time to Say Goodbye"). The result is an accessible, well-crafted, and melodic pop record from a terrific operatic vocalist -- it's an album that very well could broaden his audience. June 30, 2000: Now, I hear that this man isn?t all that when it comes to classical music (take that murderous Detroit opera debut from Halloween 1999), but in pop, he?s the man, and two bowlfuls of spaghetti and a glass of white zinfandel to go with it. I think he?s the same even if he sings salsa, like on the Spanish-translated versions of five songs on this version of the blockbuster international debut which made him the bomb-diggity in America. Only ?Vivo Por Ella? is better than the original ?Vivo Per Lei,? though, but this version sounds almost the same except the Spanish songs (like I just said) and minus three songs. My suggestion: stick to the Italian version.
