About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Rockoon is one of Tangerine Dream's Miramar CDs and one of their Grammy-nominated albums. It features their signature Berlin school electronica with rock & roll textures. It is rhythmic but not techno. There are heavy sequences and some excellent atmospheric passages, but the excellence does not last. It seems like Tangerine Dream just mailed this one in. ~ Jim Brenholts, All Music Guide All Music Guide

October 19, 2000: While TD has put out much better albums and CDs, this one is good as a reference with the title track being the best. Big City Dwarves is also worth a listen. The rest of the songs are nice, but not quite what I would expect from the Froese father and son team. With emphasis on the title 'Rockoon', I would also have to give a nod to Touchwood. The titles of all the tracks are actually more interesting than the music I'm sorry to say. For anyone wanting a good overview of Tangerine Dream's sound, I would recommend Tang-Go.
