Ralph Covert, the indie-rocker-turned-kids-favorite behind Ralph's World, can add another descriptor to his growing title - master rhymer, as evidenced by the evocative wordplay on his first new album in almost three years. The Rhyming Circus is Ralph's World's eighth album. Highlights include: the revved-up Beatle-esque "Do The Math," which introduces "a new girl in class, Polly Hedron, a non-Euclidean lass"; the country western gem "Rodeo Peg," telling the story of a cowgirl pig who "lived in a ramshackle farm on the plains... rode a broncing back bull to fortune and fame"; the laid-back, cool groove of the "King of the Alphabet," who shows movies that feature a land "where the question marks are asking why and the commas buzz around like flies"; and a swinging "Bad Bug Ball," which illustrates a hip gala of insects where the "Black Widow and the Walking Stick, went out to the patio lickety-split... they licked their chops and let it rip."
