Put {|Lil' Kim|}, Madonna, Millie Jackson, and Lauryn Hill in a blender and you'll start to get a handle on Lady Saw. An enormously overlooked talent, Lady Saw is a strong Jamaican woman who can sing and dance. She's best known, though, for her oh-so-X-rated rapping, or "deejaying," as it's called in Jamaican dance halls. But even when she performs her lewdest material, Saw is always in full control, turning the tables on macho men to the delight of female fans. RAW is a good name for a greatest hits album that contains tunes with titles like "Life Without Dick" and "Stab Out the Meat." But then Saw turns around and breaks your heart with a plaintive selection like "Give Me a Reason" or "Find a Good Man," which finds her singing out her soul for "someone who will come home at night." It's this beguiling blend of body and soul that makes Lady Saw so bewitching. Explicit Material. Rob Kenner, Barnes & Noble
