November 26, 2008: Looking at all the SP albums before 'The Process', this would be my least favorite of their records. Of course, it's better than anything they did after 'Last Rights', but it still lacks something.
'Fascist Jock Itch' sounds like a song off of Ministry's 'Land of Rape and Honey', which is a great album, but Al Jourgenson's influence is too rampant on this record. 'Worlock' is a slower, more subtle track that is one of the best on here, as is 'Tin Omen'. You can hear the Ministry influence once again on 'Tin Omen' in the guitars and what sounds like samples from 'TV Song', but it doesn't detract from the song.
'Rivers' and 'Choralone' rely on samples to take the place of vocals, which makes me wonder if the album was rushed for whatever reason. 'Amputate' is a weak track that should have been left off of the album. 'Spahn Dirge' sounds like a Ministry and SP meets Pigface live collaboration/dirge, which could be a very cool thing, but it sounds uninspired and flat.
All in all, this album has some solid songs on it, but it is not a good representation of the SP sound. Buy it if you love SP, but only after you have all of their other pre-1994 records.

August 29, 2004: I bought this album over nine years ago, and I'd have to say it diserves better praise than most Skinny Puppy fans I've talked to give it. It does sink half way through, but the tracks that are good are great! Check out Rodent, Hexonxonx,Two Time Grime, Fascist Jock Itch, Worlock and Tin Omen. 6/11 is not that bad. The closing track Spahn Dirge is crazy and hard to listen to all the way through, but if you're into weird music it should be your thing.
