About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Power pop hipsters Sherwood are a marvel, not only with where they are on this album, but how they got there. The unlikely concoction of SoCal alternative rock, Beach Boys harmonies and, of all things, '80s minimalist new wave, the dot-com darlings reside in a rare space of rock real estate. Qu sounds like an invitation to a backyard block party; only instead of a small gathering between friends, they brought the entire Western Hemisphere. Sherwood's "acoustic garage band" approach has endeared them to the online masses, making them the third most viewed MySpace profile in the world with a staggering 18 million plays and counting. At their best, like on the catchy singalong "Hit the Bottom," the band is a peppy, buoyant treat. "Not Gonna Love" sounds like a late addition to the Footloose soundtrack, with its toe-tapping simplicity, while "Make It Thru" feels like exactly what you'd want to hear in your lowest moment. The band set out to get away from an album of love songs, and for the most part, they successfully branched out on this release. Jared Johnson, All Music Guide

November 26, 2009: This is Sherwood's best album yet (and I loved their past stuff) and I can't stop listening. Love it!

October 14, 2009: I am admittedly only 7 songs through the CD as of this morning (I bought it last night) but am already in love and don't even care if the other 5 songs are terrible (though I cannot imagine them being so at all). I also have their cd "Sing, But Keep Going" which is a decent album but was never one of my favorites on the ol' Ipod. However, I knew immediately this album would remain on repeat for quite a while.

I heard about it on Myspace and they wrote on their site how this album took a lot of time and effort and it clearly shows. The songs are extremely well-produced and ridiculously catchy.

This is pop gold and I love it! I highly recommend getting this album as it seems Sherwood have hit their stride with this one.
