Editorial Reviews

This box bundles the four volumes in Water Music/Varese's Pure Trance series, covering club singles -- some of which are trance in the loosest sense -- released during the early 2000s. There's an impressive quantity of selections, but the price you pay is in the drastic edits, which only benefit those with short attention spans. And, given the high percentage of mediocrity across each of the discs, one could assemble one disc of filler-free tracks and do away with the remainder. Still, it's a thrifty way to get a lot of music in one shot, especially if you don't have much of this material to begin with. Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
