Editorial Reviews

Quite possibly one of the definitive "As Seen on TV" collections, Pulse gathers 18 guilty (or not so guilty) pleasure dance-pop hits from the '90s, including such omnipresent singles as Snap!'s "Rhythm Is a Dancer," LaBouche's "Be My Lover," Culture Beat's "Mr. Vain," and Haddaway's "What Is Love." The album's other club anthems include Reel 2 Real's "I Like to Move It," 2 Unlimited's "Get Ready for This," and Ace of Base's "Beautiful Life." Amidst the cheesy keyboards, predictable beats, and endlessly repeated choruses are some genuinely good singles, such as CeCe Peniston's "Finally (7 Choice Mix)" and Technotronic Featuring Ya Kid K's "Move This (Hit Mix)." But even Pulse's weakest tracks are nothing less than insanely catchy and instantly recognizable; if you're looking for slick dance-pop favorites, then Pulse is all killer, no filler. July 12, 2007: I've danced to many of the cuts in dance clubs. You'll enjoy this one.

November 23, 2003: This techno CD interested me for about 5 minutes. Then the thrill of having "Get Ready for This" wears off. "I Like to Move It" is the only consistent song on the album other than 2Unlimited's hit.
