Proud Mary: The Best of Ike and Tina Turner is a fine 23-track collection that looks at the Turners' career at the beginning and the end. Their early-'60s hits on Juggy Murray's Sue label are included, as are their early- and mid-'70s successes on Liberty and United Artists. The mid- and late-'60s recordings for Kent, Loma, Modern, Innis, Blue Thumb, and Minit are not here, unfortunately. Superior liner notes round out a fine package. Rob Bowman, All Music Guide

April 27, 2004: I think this is a must have for any Ike and Tina fan. But I'll have to agree with Mr. Bowman. This CD does require some of their work on Kent, Loma, Blue Thumb and so on to fully appreciate them. Included is a full page booklet that contains a biography and on the flip side is pictures of the duos rarest albums including 4 out of 5 of their Sue covers.
