About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Linda Ronstadt followed the commercial and critical breakthrough success of Heart Like a Wheel with Prisoner in Disguise, a record that essentially repeats the formula of its predecessor. While it lacks the consistency of Heart Like a Wheel, it's thoroughly enjoyable, highlighted by sturdy remakes of the Motown classics "Tracks of My Tears" and "Heat Wave." Prisoner In Disguise - Linda Ronstadt - Mobile Fidelity Gold CDby cblou2000

February 23, 2009: This was the follow up to Ronstadt's groundbreaking album "Heart Like A Wheel." Linda and her producer Peter Asher found a formula that worked. I've heard the original vinyl album and had a copy of the CD. There is a vast difference between the standard CD and the Mobile Fidelity versions. Linda's voice is so clear and crisp on the MoFi version. The acoustic guitars sound like they are in the room with you. EVERYTHING has a "live" feel to it. It is superior to the standard CD issue.

Of course it costs more. That means nothing to a true audiophile. It's always worth the extra dollars to have a top notch quality recording of your favorite music. Mobile Fidelity makes limited quantities of their releases. Buy it while you can.

"Don't Cry Now" is also available on Mobile Fidelity.
