The beloved singer-songwriter takes her signature dusky, melodious voice to the world of Disney, bringing Piglet's complex personality to musical life. The film follows Pooh's gang in the Hundred Acre Wood as they prepare for a honey harvest. But Piglet grows frustrated after being told he's too small to help. After their little pal disappears, the gang recalls how Piglet was a hero in the past. The soundtrack starts with the memorable first lines of the Winnie-the-Pooh theme -- from the very first "la la la," listeners know they are in for sweet treat. Simon's genuine emotion fills the sentimental "If I Wasn't So Small (The Piglet Song)," and her unmistakable voice shines in "With a Few Good Friends." The poignant "The More I Look Inside" twinkles with piano and touching lyrics about the search for Piglet. And don't miss the contemplative "Comforting to Know," featuring the gorgeous vocals of Grammy-winning opera singer Renée Fleming. Simon's seven original songs are all fine examples of the buoyant folk-pop for which she's earned her reputation, and the message is just as uplifting: Young listeners learn that it doesn't take somebody big to do great things. "Mother's Intuition" is one of the best tracks, explaining the need for mothers to look and clean up after their children to a lively beat; "With a Few Good Friends" emphasizes the importance and power of friendship with cheerful harmonies. Simon also captures Piglet's winsome nature on "If I Wasn't So Small (The Piglet Song)"; Winnie the Pooh and Piglet join her on "Sing Ho for the Life of a Bear (Exposition March)" and also sing "The More It Snows (Tiddley-Pom)." Johnson's score is similarly sweet and quirky, particularly on tracks like "Scrapbook Pages" and "Roo Joins the Quest," although "River Roo" hints at the movie's sense of adventure.
