A seven-CD box set from Collectables, Pianist Extraordinaire, Vol. 1 contains six of pianist Don Shirley's albums and a greatest-hits collection. The albums covered here are packaged as double CDs and include Orpheus of the Underworld/Improvisations, Tonal Expressions/Piano Perspectives, and Solos/Don Shirley With Two Basses. The collection, titled Golden Classics, has a few tracks that appear on other albums included in the box, but generally avoids these redundancies.
