Editorial Reviews

Attempting to re-create the triumph of their debut The Three Tenors in Concert 1994, the Three Tenors reunited on July 10, 1998 for a grand concert in Paris to celebrate France's hosting of the 1998 World Cup. This time supported by conductor James Levine and the Orchestre de Paris, as well as arranger Lalo Schifrin, the Three Tenors gave another superlative performance. None of the songs on Paris 1998, the recorded document of the concert, appeared on their first album, and they're a remarkably diverse and welcoming set, highlighted by the show-stopping "Medley of the World." The success of The Three Tenors in Concert 1994 may have been a surprise, but Paris 1998 proves that the reason why the Three Tenors are so successful is simply because José Carreras, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti are the best at what they do. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
