About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Lady Antebellum swept up the 2011 Grammys, winning five of their six nominated categories, cementing their status as cross-platform mainstream superstars. Certainly, Own the Night -- the 2011 sequel to their 2010 breakthrough Need You Now -- bears the sound of a band quite content with its position in the middle of the road. Any lingering elements of country, whether twang or 2-steps, have been supplanted with a smooth soft rock designed to seep into the background wherever it's played. These songs of love won and lost tend to be dreamy and pretty, retaining much of the feel of 'Need You Now.' So, Own the Night is mood music but the aim isn't amorous, it's to soothe. November 18, 2011: Lady Antebellum has owned the country music charts for the last couple of years, so when they released their third album ?Own the Night,? on September 13, 2011 there were many high expectations. Lady Antebellum?s second album ?Need You Now? which was released on January 26, 2010 was a huge success with four consecutive number one hits on the Hot Country Songs chart. Pressure was high on Lady Antebellum?s band members, Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, and Dave Haywood to produce another chart topping album. Lady Antebellum?s third album titled ?Own the Night? certainly has not disappointed their fans with a great mix of classical country love ballads and catchy, upbeat songs that will make everyone want to sing along.

Few artists ever score a hit as big as Lady Antebellum?s ?Need You Now?, which catapulted the trio to superstar status. Many fans had high expectations for the third studio album after ?Need You Now? was such a huge success. ?Own the Night? captures the same energy and excitement as the ?Need You Now? album. ?Our Kind of Love? off the second album is very similar to ?Singing Me Home? featured on the third album since they are both lighthearted love songs. ?Hello World? and ?Heart of the World? both share a similar message of living each day we are given to the fullest and loving the people we are blessed to have in our lives. With five Grammy?s, ?Need You Now? is very hard to compete with, but ?Own the Night? is one album that has a great shot at making it to the top with much of the same success as the previous album.

The first track on the album titled ?We Owned the Night? is full of energy and is the perfect song to get everyone on their feet and dancing. It is followed on the album by the debut single ?Just A Kiss?, which is a very classy, sincere love ballad that showcases Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley?s musical chemistry. ?Dancin? Away With My Heart? is an illustration of unforgettable teen love that will leave everyone longing for one more dance with the perfect guy in high school. Every album needs a fun, summer song and ?Friday Night? will be a favorite for Lady Antebellum fans while they enjoy each minute of the summer months. ?When You Were Mine? and ?Cold as Stone? are melodies that do a great job of showcasing Lady?s Antebellum?s instrumental band members as well as Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, and Hillary Scott?s incredible harmony and vocal blend. The second half of the album which includes songs titled ?Singing Me Home?, ?Wanted You More?, ?As You Turn Away?, ?Love I?ve Found In You?, ?Somewhere Love Remains?, and ?Heart of the World? all compliment Lady Antebellum?s wide range of musical talent. ?Singing Me Home? showcases their upbeat style on flirtatious love songs, while ?Heart of the World? features a softer, more serious take on romance.

Lady Antebellum has huge shoes to fill after the chart topping ?Need You Now? album, but with a great mix of brilliantly written songs and the outstanding vocals of Charles, Hillary, and Dave ?Own the Night? is sure to be a top seller.
