With a more urbane, thoughtful style than most of the current crop of good-old-boy country comics, Bill Engvall puts an agreeably modern spin on such familiar topics as gender politics, fatherhood, and various societal foibles. On his fourth album, the Texas-bred funnyman bids a not-so-fond farewell to "The 90's," compares men to "Pound Puppies," and bemoans the discovery of "A Snake in the Toilet." As an extra added attraction, the album features two tracks that adapt the comic's standup routines into full-on country songs. "Now That's Awesome" features guest vocals from country stars Tracy Byrd, Neal McCoy, and T. Graham Brown, while "Shoulda Shut Up," finds Engvall trading barbs with up-and-coming diva Julie Reeves.
