About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

The collective voices of No Secrets drift over the burbling beats and synth twitters of their eponymous teen pop debut. Opener "That's What Girls Do" is sassy and fun, while the girls' cover of Kim Wilde's "Kids in America" (previously released as part of the Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius soundtrack) is bubbly and bright and brash all at once -- just like the best summer days. But No Secrets have a hard time sustaining that energy over a full album, mostly because they waver between endorsing innocent fun and uplifting messages, and more lascivious adult themes that teen pop too often tries to reference. "Hot"'s heavy breathing, "Holla!"s, and "You feel me?" shout-outs -- not to mention its product-placement references to J-Lo and *N Sync -- put the quintet in the same world inhabited by platinum blonde boy-man Aaron Carter; in fact, it's a thematic cousin to Oh Aaron's "Stride [Jump on the Fizzy]," which the No Secrets girls guested on. August 17, 2003: No Secrets is a new group. I wish they would release another album soon, becuase their rival Play (another good group nonetheless) came out with a sophomore release and they are really so much better then before. And I bet No Secrets would sound perfect. 1.That's What Girls Do *****-This is a great song. It's about how there are certain things that girls do! 2.On The Floor *****-One of my favorite songs! It is like rap. It is about a dance party and about how stars can be normal kids/adults too! 3.Skin Deep *****-I use to hate this song, but now I really like it it! It's about how there's beauty skin deep. 4.KIds In America ****-Not my favorite, but it's stril good! It's about normal American teens. 5.It's Alright *****-This is a really good song. I realy like the part where they go "I need, friends I can depend on." 6.I'll Remember You ****- I think this is a nice ballads. Good as a ballad, but I just don't really like it. 7.Here I Am *****- Another one of my favorites. About how regulars teens can be better then girls that are on TV or magazines. 8. Hot*****-My absolute favorite! It's about being hot! (Not the warm way, though :) 9. I Know What I Want *****-A Great song! It's about how she wants to go out with this boy who likes her but he isn't asking her out since he's too shy. 10. What Are You Waiting For? *****- A really, really upbeat song. It's great! 11. No Secrets *****-A great song about keeping secrets.
