About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Coldplay began working on Mylo Xyloto in 2009, while the band was still in the midst of its multi-year tour in support of Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. Recording sessions stretched from 2009 to 2011, with Brian Eno collaborating with the band on several songs and R&B singer Rihanna lending her vocals to 'Princes of China.' Markus Dravs, Daniel Green, and Rik Simpson all shared production credits, too, resulting in a diverse album inspired by industrial rock and electro-pop. Coldplay began debuting the new tracks as early as May 2011, with 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall' kicking off a string of anthemic singles., All Music Guide

September 17, 2011: Seriously the best album YET. The EP is fantastic and every song on this album is amazing. Paradise is probably one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

October 27, 2011: I've listened to this album a Few times to make sure I wasn't just some nutty fanboy raving about it, and I've found I'm not it really is that good. I became a Coldplay fan after receiving "Viva La Vida" for Christmas back when it came out, for lack of a better term I found that album Magical and it still brings back happy memories when I listen to it, makes me think of running through the Yard as a child playing with the neighborhood kids and starring out of windows. For something as nolstalgic as that it would be an understatement to say I had high expectations for "Mylo" and it pretty much fills them all I'm happy to say. That nostalgic magic feeling still pervades through many of these songs, the title track, hurts like heaven, charlie brown, us against the world, every teardrop, in fact almost all of the songs on this album do, the only songs that dont are Princess of China, Up In Flames, and Major Minus and those are still fantastic songs. I heard some Critic called Coldplay "Schoolboys" that seems an accurate way to describe them racing through the streets full of joy and wonder at the world around them. A throughouly wonderful album, the only problem I can think of is that the Lyrics are at times very hard to understand though this doesn't necessarily cripple it to much as its kind of one of those albums where its more feeling as opposed to logic. And then all to fast its over, the beauty, the joy, the happiness, one wishes it could go on forever, that's a good sign right? - CM
