Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg's followup to Les Miserables is another sung-through operetta with a serious theme and a classic source: They have placed Madame Butterfly in the waning days of the Vietnam War. Jonathan Pryce stands out as a pimp named the Engineer in this London cast recording, and the score has the same rock feel as Schonberg's Les Miserables music. William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide

October 16, 2005: Miss Saigon was such a sad story! It want to cry every time I listen to it. Lea Salonga has such a beautiful voice and sounds great on this CD! I must say that this is just about equal (in quality) to Les Mis if not better.

June 12, 2005: This CD is awesome. the voices are amazing and the story line is so simple yet so complicating. When I first heard it I was crying by the second half and I threw a shoe at my CD player for something that Chris does that i don;t wnat to tell anyone. Anyone who liked Epionin's voice from les Miserables will love Kim becaus it is the same chick. Wish she was in more musicals.
