About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

You've got to admit that the rap-rock revolution has done wonders for mainstream metal. And if Mötley Crüe will be remembered as one of the silliest examples of overblown fluff-rock jerk-metal, former Crüe skin-slapper Tommy Lee's new project, METHODS OF MAYHEM, hardly risks coming off so limp. Reborn as a rap-rock wild man, Tommy leads cohosting rapper TiLo and a bevy of stars -- Beasties' turntablist Mix Master Mike, Fred Durst, Crystal Method, the Wu's U-God, Lil' Kim, Snoop Dog, George Clinton, and Kid Rock -- through a wild ride made to order for the Woodstock '99 nation. Lil' Kim's raw rhymes on the explosive single "Get Naked" are dirty enough to make your speakers sweat bullets, while Kid Rock's puerile prowess on the classic rock salvo "New Skin" takes things back to Lee's metal '80s heyday without losing an ounce of punch. But the obvious clincher here is "Proposition F*ck You," which takes shots at racist cops, the health-care system, and just about every authority figure it can offend in three minutes and 12 seconds of anarcho-rap salvo.
