January 11, 2002: First thing I noticed about this CD is that the sleeve is totally different to the U K original.THAT sleeve was so atrocious that I printed out my own alternative so it now shows a lady wandering through a garden at the turn of the century and makes as much sense as the sleeve which showed an injured footballer. I even had to change the title so its now called LAY DOWN & OTHER SONGS I collect Jimmy Somerville because I collect the sessions of the string players,who were present as far back as the Communards' RED album of 1986.In fact Ann Stephenson,Jocelyn Pook and Ann Stephenson were made honorary Communards at the time.I'm also quite friendly with Ann and Gini Ball. Somerville has made some pretty powerful music in his time,his own songs being more interesting than his cover versions. And there could be a hidden meaning behind the last 2 titles ROLLIN' and STONE!!
