Editorial Reviews

The soundtrack to the romantic comedy, Maid in Manhattan -- a Cinderella story starring Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes -- features a lively assortment of both classic pop and R&B songs from Paul Simon ("Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard") and Teena Marie ("Lovergirl") and contemporary material from Glenn Lewis ("Fall Again") and Norah Jones ("Come Away With Me"). Although the album doesn't include a new song from J. Lo, it bridges the gap between old-school and contemporary soul with two versions of the infectious dance-floor jam "I'm Coming Out" -- the original sung by Diana "the Boss" Ross and a new version by up-and-coming songbird Amerie. December 20, 2002: Regretfully, it is time to hang up the air jordans and bobby socks. It's time for a breath of fresh air, and this cd drives it home. Call me prude or call me a mountain lion. It's lackluster and has no soul. Not that I have one, but I at least know a coffee cake from a rag top.

December 18, 2002: What makes a good movie is a GREAT soundtrack! Glenn Lewis and Norah Jones is just a few names on the soundtrack, who can ask for more? Watching the movie and hearing these songs is what made this film a PERFECT date movie ;-)
