Editorial Reviews

Leonard Slatkin’s account of Mahler’s "Resurrection" Symphony has much to offer people who prefer an interpretation that does not stray beyond the specific instructions in the score, yet is more involving than the distant professionalism of such conductors as Bernard Haitink. James Reel, Fanfare

February 28, 2007: This is one of the brilliant Mahler 2nd Symphony recordings among other greats like Klemperer and Rattle. The first movement changes from fiery to gentle smoothly. The 'Urlicht' is slow, for those who prefer it as such, and the finale has excellent instrumentation and precussion. Soon I'm going to purchase the SACD version of this recording, as I have heard great things about it.
