About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Just less than a year after KMFDM called it quits, frontmen Sascha Konietzko and Tim Skold moved from TVT to Universal and changed their name to MDFMK. (TVT executives are undoubtedly still attempting to trace their whereabouts.) This self-titled work doesn't quite qualify as a change of direction, however, begging the question of whether the change of venue is due more to artistic control or finances than music. MDFMK charts the same breakbeat industrial-thrash that has long been a staple of any KMFDM album, complete with ranting vocals, aggressive songwriting, heavy-metal chords that sound vaguely familiar, and solid programming that reveals a surprising pop sense. There are a few concessions to technology, including groovier basslines and digital production. Though the songs aren't very strong and the vocals are a bit melodramatic, KMFDM fans will simply be glad to get another album out of the act. John Bush, All Music Guide

September 08, 2000: I've had this CD in heavy rotaion since it's release...and though I mourn the death of KMFDM I recognize that MDFMK is here to take it's place...And in Sascha (and Tim, and Lucia) I trust. The MDFMK debut is (like KMFDM) ahead of it's time...The entire CD is a completely new sound....but somehow--similar. The guitars and layers of samples and noise fit together to make MDFMK the force to be dealt with. I'm biased and must say that nothing will topple MDFMK from their glory. With tracks like Missing Time(from Heavy Metal 2000), Rabblerouser, Torpedoes, Witch Hunt, and Hydroelectric....It's obvious that MDFMK is taking things to the next level...setting up a challenge for the rest of the music world to follow.

What an awesome cd!!!by Anonymous

June 21, 2000: MDFMK is definitely good!!! It is loud, fast, and energetic... just the way I like it!!! It is different from KMFDM music, but in my opinion it is much better!! There are a couple of weaker songs, but what cd doesn't?? The harsh guitars and pulsating rhythm make this cd one I will listen to for a very long time. Very highly recemonded!!!
