Here's a straight-up reissue (no bonus tracks) of an early-'60s album Les and Mary did for Columbia. As the title indicates, it's a Hawaiian-themed album and the duo's style fits these tunes perfectly, from Les' multi-tracked guitar being augmented by overdubbed steel guitar swoops to Mary's perfectly pitched, overdubbed harmonies. Old favorites like "Blue Hawaii," "On the Beach at Waikiki," "Sweet Leilani," and "My Little Grass Shack" and the obligatory "Aloha Oe" get dusted off, along with Les' original instrumentals "Hawaiian Charms," "Golden Sands," and "Pacific Breeze." Not the place to start to your Les Paul collection, but an interesting stopping-off point along the way. Cub Koda, All Music Guide
