Editorial Reviews

Years after the runaway success of "Come Baby Come," K7 had sort of disappeared. His contract with Tommy Boy had soured, and it wasn't until 2001 that he resurfaced on the indie label Select with the album Love, Sex, Money. The album also featured Ty Bless, an unknown artist at the time. Together, the two functioned well as a duo; however, the lack of a major-label budget -- not to mention a major-label distribution deal and marketing push -- really prevents Love, Sex, Money from sounding as great as it should. Both K7 and Ty Bless perform well, but they don't have the production they need to back them up. Nonetheless, anyone who missed K7 following his departure from the music industry for several years will no doubt find this album refreshing at the least, even if it's nowhere near as exciting as his greatest accomplishment, the Swing Batta Swing album on Tommy Boy.
