Cave Catt Sammy kicks off Love Me Like Crazy with "Gonna Rock and Roll," a blast of backwards-glancing rockabilly that could have been written by Bill Haley. String bassist and vocalist Beau Sample knows how to put together great oldies. There's not much contemporary here -- Carl Perkins grooves ("Sticky Fingers"), Memphis shuffles ("She Loves Her Man"), and Jerry Lee Lewis-style barnburners (the Crawford-penned "Love Me Like Crazy" that the album is named for) predominate -- but you can't fault a band who is so energetic, inspired, and genuine. Plus, "Raining Honey" makes for a great country & western tune. There is nothing startlingly new here, but Cave Catt Sammy proves that there doesn't always have to be. ~ Charles Spano, All Music Guide All Music Guide
