October 24, 2007: If you like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Jeff Beck, Jason Becker, Buckethead, and other guitar gods then you have one more altar to worship at. Elixer and Coloreas Mi Vida are the stand out songs on this excellent offering. Although talented and technically proficient, his writing skills are not equal to Satriani or Vai yet, but given time this guitarist may develop the rare ability to craft instrumental songs that do not become tedious or self indulgent. So many of the best shredders just seem to just display their talents with exercises and fiery runs, while the true guitar gods express emotion and create masterful instrumental compositions which transcend the typical pop vocal songs and transport the listener to a higher ground. Guitarists like Carlos Santana and Jeff Beck are able to write great melodies which don't depend on just speed and technique, and this virtuoso guitarist is on his way into that rare musical territory.
