Chico DeBarge spent much of the late '80s and early '90s in jail after being convicted for trafficking cocaine, which meant it took a full 11 years for him to return with his second album, Long Time No See. DeBarge tries desperately to fit into the trends of the '90s, adding street-level, bass-heavy rhythms and hip-hop beats to his productions. July 13, 2004: If you like Neo-Soul you will love Chico's music. Though each albulm has it's own unique feel, I think that you will get a taste of his talent in LONG TIME NO SEE which showcases the sensual and raw talent that he is known for. If you like it then you must pick up THE GAME and FREE also. You will be able to see how he prgressively matures and hones his talent. I love the fact that this guy bares his emotions and can make you feel what he is feeling in tone and in lyrics. He is definitely the sensitive type and it shows in volumes so check each one out separately. The Brother is deep and I like 'em that way!
