About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Utah Phillips returned to recording with Ani DiFranco's encouragement for their duet album, The Past Didn't Go Anywhere. Evidently, the collaboration inspired Phillips, because he delivered Loafer's Glory just months after The Past, which was released six years after his last album. Loafer's Glory captures him at the top of his form, running through songs and stories with glee, especially when he's subverting traditional American mores. Anyone who learned of Phillips through DiFranco couldn't ask for a better introduction to his style than Loafer's Glory. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
