Recorded in 2006, Living Legends: Broke Ass Summer Jam is an hour-long live set from the Living Legends crew, plus guest appearances from fellow West Coast MCs like A+, Saafir, and Zion I. Because it's recorded live, the sound quality isn't fantastic. The rappers' rhymes are all intelligible, but there's not the crispness, either in delivery or production, that distinguishes studio work, and is necessary in hip-hop. If you're a huge Living Legends fan, or managed to catch a show of theirs last year, this album might be worth a purchase. Otherwise, better to look for more standard releases.
