Although this trio have come a long way since the days when they thrashed their way across the stages of Upstate New York, the Goos haven't forgotten those roots -- and judging by the overwhelming response the hometown crowd offers on this live set, the feeling is mutual. The band don't skimp on their hits, turning out suitably soaring versions of "Name" and "Iris" (the latter buoyed by a hearty audience sing-along), but there's also a goodly bit of archive raiding, best represented by a ringing "Two Days in February," which also gets plenty of crowd participation. And while most of the set is given over to the more mellow mid-tempo material that catapulted the band into the mainstream, a handful of rockers -- like the Robby Takacsung "What a Scene" -- impart the energy needed to keep the set a-movin'. The fact that the show came off at all will be something of a surprise to anyone viewing the accompanying DVD component, which reveals band and crowd alike being pelted with torrential rain from start to finish. A studio version of Supertramp's "Give a Little Bit" rounds out the package. David Sprague, Barnes & Noble
