About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

As thrilling as it is to hear the soaring and mellifluous tones of Josh Groban's vocals on his hit recordings, it's even more awe-inspiring to watch him achieve his magical effects live on stage. Recorded on two successive nights in September 2004 at Los Angeles’ Greek Theater, Live at the Greek (a CD/DVD package) captures the 23-year old wonder in stunning form. Concentrating on selections from his hit album Closer, Groban performs passion-filled versions of such favorites as "Per Te" and "Remember when It Rained." Vocal artistry is the name of the game here; Groban lets his voice carry the weight of the performance; stage shenanigans just don't jibe with his focused manner. As if his gorgeous singing weren't enough to hold the adoring audience in the palm of his hand, the multi-talented Groban heads to the piano for Paul Simon's "America" and even takes a spin on the drums! Guests include a gospel choir on "You Raise Me Up," and by the violin prodigy Lucia Micarelli on "Mi Mancherai." This, Groban’s second special for PBS’s Great Performances, will air on December 2, 2004. William Pearl, Barnes & Noble

November 20, 2007: I did not have the opprotunity to see Josh on his "Closer" tour, so this was the next best thing. I loved the DVD the concert itself was great and I love the interaction Josh has with the audience members. His fans love him so much, and you can tell it. The song choices were wonderful and the extras just gave more of an insight into who Josh is as a person. If you love Josh, you should own this DVD/CD combo.

October 04, 2006: As a vocal student who studied Opera when I was younger, I can really appreciate what a tremendous gift this young man has. Back when I studied, you either did popular oryou did Opera, you did not mix it up. What a wonderful new age with live in that someone as talented as he is, can treat us to a variety of styles. His "You Raise Me Up, make sme think of my grandparents who were very rare human beings. His "Remember" from Troy gives me chills. Anyone who says he is awful, and can't sing, needs to get a hearing aid. He only gets better with every new performance. It was wonderful to be able to see his concert on DVD, since both his concerts in Seattle SOLD OUT before I could get tickets (within a few minutes). KEEP IT COMING JOSH, I FOR ONE LOVE YOU.
